Curious newbie

Hi all, I was just wondering if EN is only meant for those whom have been actively involved in the community for awhile, or if one such as myself who has never been to any vampyre related event, would be welcome. I would hate to get all the way there to be shunned as an outsider, as silly as that may sound. I do want to go, as I need to be in the presence of others like myself, I wonder if anyone else gets a "stale" feeling being around unawakened and completely physical-realm dwellers all the time..
