You have hear legends of a "bible for vampyres" and witnessed the ankhs running around Manhattan & at countless events, you hear of secret ceremonies & blood drinkers, seen the flyers for clubs such as Long Black Veil or Hidden Shadows. You see mentions of words like "communion", "gaja" and "the Veil" on television and in many magazines.

But what does this all mean? Where does it all begin? What is the reality and falsities of this mysterious subculture?
This presentation will be an introduction of vampyrism from a cultural, ritualistic spiritual and magickal level for those with just a mild interest to the most experienced elder. We are going to cover topics such as the history of the vampyre subculture in New York and world wide, rituals, facts, energy, the reasons of true vampyrism, ethics, vampires vs. vampyres and the various organizations.

Together two separate but similar paths of vampyrism will be presented, showing the diversity of the community; including Strigoi Vii and Kheprianism. The very basis of both of these paths is the vampyre code known as the "Black Veil" which was originally written by Father Sebastian for his nightclub LBV and then expanded and revised by Michelle Belanger for the greater vampyre community.

The presenters are Father Sebastian of the Order of Strigoi Vii, Michelle Belanger of the Kheprian Order, and Madame X of the Dreaming co-authors of the newly released book by Rakasha Press entitled "Vampyre."

Father "Sebastian" Todd is the Primus (founder) of Clan Sabretooth, the Fangsmith Guild & the Order of Strigoi Vii (OSV), he is an activist for the vampyre community and recently moved to Amsterdam two years ago to establish the OSV & Rakasha Press. He is known for his New York event Long Black Veil which ran for 7 years (5 of them at the Legendary MOTHER) and the Endless Night Festival in New Orleans.

Father Sebastian has appeared on the Discovery Channel, Nation Geographic, Travel Channel, MTV and appeared in Glamour Magazine, Tattoo Savage, Newlook Magazine UK Vogue, Marie Claire, InStyle, New York Time Out and the New York Times and consulted for Katherine Ramsland's book

Michelle Belanger is the Primus and High Priest of House Kheperu, based outside Cleveland Ohio and is preparing to release the Kheprian edition of the Vampire Codex with Sam Weiser books in Fall 2004. She is a rising author and avid pychic vampire activist & spokesperson. She has been published in Shadowdance Magazine, the MidNight Sun, the VampyreAlmanac, Disinfo.com, Dark Realms Magazine & countless more.

Madame X is the Matriarch of House of the Dreaming, based in Savannah, GA. She is, however well recognized in the NY/NJ area for her many social coordinating projects, among them: the formation of the arts guild The Rift Arts Forum, founding the Iron Garden, the New Jersey Goth Challenge and dedication to the Court of Lazarus. Being Kharrus of the OSV, Madame X, and the Dreaming, will present an Elorathian Ritual of Energy Replenishment, that you don’t want to miss!

Together Father Sebastian, Michelle Belanger, and Madame X have had a working partnership to create public awareness, support and resources for the growing and evolving vampyre subculture. No other individuals have had more effect on the vampyre subculture.

Itsume and I had a blast at both events! We were happy to be able to partake in not just one, but two rituals for our first time out with so many from the community. The crowds were great and both events were packed. Keep an eye out for us if you watch "Taxicab Confessions" for Itsume, Adeliah, and myself talking by a fire hydrant outside Club Rare. The evening was full of surprises and was definitely filled with magical events and happenings!
