The nature of the otherkin self or selves

Postby JeanSebastien » Tue Apr 12, 2016 3:27 pm

Otherkins as defined in my previous article on the subject are human beings with one or multiple non-human souls. Yet what is the true nature of these unique humans who are lucky enough to be imbued with such supernatural energy, soul radiance and innate power. This article is an attempt at defining that nature and expanding upon its qualities as to help those concerned to gain insights into their own lives as otherkins. The otherkin self seems to come out into raw awareness through experimentation or life defining spiritual events usually around their late teens leading on to early adulthood. Some traits seem to define otherkins in general such as eccentric, marginal or artistic dispositions as their ego and personality develops through life. They may also find they have similar overarching abilities that develop sometimes as early as childhood: a strong ability to manifest wishes, the manipulation of energy, an hypersensitivity to others or the environment around them.

The essence of a singular otherkin is the easiest to define in metaphysical terms. A human body, a meat-suit serves as a vessel right from birth for a human spirit that is seeded with the supernatural soul about to incarnate in our material plane. The two entwined so as to grow alongside one another. Many otherkins have related to me that their twisted path thru life seem to be a road preparing them to assume their identity, their abilities and their potential in this reality before they become aware of their otherkin type and persona. For example, a succubus may find herself beginning puberty at an earlier age, growing up through her teenage years very promiscuous or going thru hardships such as bad relationships, rapes, and a plethora of unfortunate events such as sexually transmitted diseases.Or conversely, she may find herself being a heartbreaker, possibly embracing sacred sexuality and gaining an awareness of her potential as a dark witch at an early age. A fairy may find herself attracted to nature, looking to spend more time outside interacting with plants, animals, frolicking around the forest as a child. She may also develop artistic talents at an early age even find that she is empathic, clairaudient or clairsentient. The body of the singular otherkin whether unique or hybrid souled being reacts as well upon his/her/their gain of awareness. By this time, the astral form begins to manifest producing phantom limbs, a slight feeling of body or gender dis-morphia, a ever-growing sense of connection with themselves, other beings and the world around them as well as a stronger set of ties to the aforementioned abilities which seem to come naturally to otherkins in general as well as those particular to their own kin type and persona. Some have also reported changes in their mental states such as dissociation, feeling lightheaded and a general malaise relating feelings of alienation, marginalisation and tendencies to feel out of place and faraway from their home planes of existence.

The essence of the multiple otherkin is harder to define. As per the earlier explanation, the otherkin selves however in this instance are compounded into the human vessel meaning that the human soul is not seeded with them at birth instead it is the entire essence of the mortal vessel which is tied to them. A particularity of the multiple otherkin is also that the different souls may come to the forefront of the body, taking control of the body and thus being able to fully possess the meatsuit, of course with the accord of the human soul, simply pushing back the mind of the human into the subconscious until it is ready to resurface. This process is often called fronting. These souls awaken either in succession one after the other or all at once. When it is happens in succession it seems to fit with life defining events which trigger episodes of awareness, ascension and initiatory sickness as in the case of the singular otherkin. However when these souls become aware at a young age, too early for the completion of major brain development, the formation of a solid ego and a better grip on reality to be produced, or all at once resulting in the potential for mental breakdown, differentiated forms of insanity and mental conditions, suicidal tendencies, even the need to act out violent fantasies as well as the assumption of extreme modes of self expression such as alternative lifestyles, body modification, BDSM relationships and strange forms of art which defy the taboos and conventions of the human societies and local cultures they inhabit. That is not a set of absolutes nor an exhaustive list of such occurrences. The aura of multiple systems is also strange as it appears to those capable of seeing energies as a set of layers with a number equal to the amount of souls found in the vessel. The astral forms of the multiple otherkin come out when each different soul inhabits the body by fronting. This quality in itself is akin to a form of auric shapeshifting. The sheer amount of souls may result in episodes of conflict, confrontation and ego disputes. According to the general composition of the multiple system, dark souls, grey souls and lighter aspected souls, the potential for conflict may be higher or lower accordingly. Though not all experience this form of inner battle, it is often a topic of debate as to how a balance may be reached with the human self as a central point of focus for control.

As a final note, otherkins seem to sometime have strong ties to diverse elemental planes of potentia and to the diverse forces that reside there. These different energies and the places where these sources outside our own material reality enable the otherkin to replenish their own essencial patterns and heal their wounds both physical and spiritual. It also may allow them to use some of their abilities which require an higher amount of energy to process. Some however such as pranic vampires, cacodaemons and some fae kintypes feed on the sexual or emotional energies of human prey. Without these instances of feeding the otherkin may experience symptoms varying from headaches, lethargy, dizziness, the inability to process food, insomnia, mood swings as well as a reduced immune system.

I particularly enjoyed reading this article since in September I will be conducting a conclave on being and interacting with Otherkin. Im sure I will read thru it again before presenting my topic. Thank you for sharing your perspectives and experience.
