Seeing beyond the Veil

Postby The Madame X » Wed Dec 11, 2013 11:25 am

We often talk in our general discussion forum about seeing beyond the veil, as in seeing ghosts, spirits, spiritual entities, discarnate beings, spiritual guides, ancients, etc... and our experiences are varied.
How accurate does TV portray this phenomenon? TV shows like The Dead Zone, Ghost Whisperer and Medium for instance depict individuals who see beyond the veil. Perhaps there are other shows or movies that better feature this ability... Do you find that these shows, or others parallel your personal experiences? How well is the media communicating/translating this special ability?
Is there a particular episode that specifically hits the mark for you? Why?
Are these shows completely misguided?
How does the media help us better understand these gifts? How can they?

I think in general ( but not always) many of the shows miss the subtlety. What comes through from the other side for me starts out very subtle. Our minds need to be extremely relaxed. Usually. The exceptions are nightmares. They may be forced entries by Earth Bound spirits. Those forced entries are much less subtle. I have also seen emergency help from Spirit guides. I think any show that uses an EVP comes much closer to the truth. Penn State was a good one. Sometimes it is the sound missing that is the real clue. My friend Chris and I recorded a visual Ghost at Anderson Park. A train went by as she was manifesting. When we played back the recording, no new sounds were added. But the train sound phazed in and out on the EVP. In the Missing sound we could almost hear a message. Almost but not quite. She could manipulate our sound but not make her own. As she could manipulate the tree shadows at night to show herself, but she could not show herself in her own light.

Two of my favorite shows are Ghost Adventures and The Dead Files. Ghost Adventures portray ghost hunting very well. And Amy Allen on The Dead Files does a good job. In my experience communicating with the dead comes very faint, but I'm new to it. I don't know if I can do it now because it has been awhile since I did any readings for people. This one lady I was trying to read, I kept thinking about cancer. So I told her I got cancer from her picture, and she told me that cancer runs in her family. That validated it for me. I also ghost hunt and got to go to Waverly Hills in Kentucky a couple times. I got a picture of a shadow figure in a hallway. That was a very haunted location.
