On Cyber-bullying

Postby The Madame X » Thu Jan 14, 2016 10:04 am

Cyber-bullying is a crime.
Cyber-bullying is the use of information and communication technologies by an individual to deliberately, repeatedly, and in a hostile fashion to harm others. It is when the Internet, cell phones or other technological devices are used to send or post text or images intended to harm, discredit or embarrass another person.
It is a criminal offense to repeatedly torment, threaten, harass, humiliate, embarrass or otherwise target another person.
It is a criminal offense to post humiliating insults, threats, lies, sexual remarks, pejorative labels, hate speech, ganging up on an individual (or individuals) by making them the subject of ridicule in forums, and posting false statements as fact. It is a criminal offense to post rumors, gossip and instigate others to dislike and gang up on a targeted individual (or individuals).

It goes without saying that any such bad-form will get you permanently removed from most forums. A Cyber-bully may also expect to be contacted by the injured party (s) in question as well as to be unwelcome on many other forums, as certainly the news of such indiscretion is expected to propagate. Depending on the degree of offense and the leniency of the parties involved, the cyber-bully may also find them selves being sued, answering not only to the injured party but also to the community at large, or to multiple communities, for their offense(s).

House of the Dreaming does not and will not condone any aspect of Cyber-bullying and frowns upon those who choose to entertain such criminal activity and those who support such criminals.

We hope that this short article serves to educate those who may not be aware that cyber-bullying is in fact a crime and punishable by law.
